The Manifesto Stripped Bare

I came across the ‘Declaration of Intent’ unexpectedly at a time I was thinking about the different types of transfer that can take place between the artist and the public. Lawrence Weiner’s work struck me as the perfect set of instructions, like a definitive manifesto. I am interested in the way his language sets factors and forces in relation to each other. It can be translated into other languages, expressed as equations or drawn up as a diagram. These kind of translations help me explore hidden possibilities, new implications and logical consequences. This study is the first step in a project where I aim to represent Weiner’s idea both spatially and dynamically, like cosmography in motion.
