Chromatron – Mood EQ
Study for light sculpture, residency period
The light sculpture developed in this project works as a mood equalizer and is based on the principles of chromatherapy. It is designed to balance, enhance or neutralize moods ranging from excited to relaxed. To achieve this, a 3.000 Watt light source, including UV-A, is filtered to produce a spectrum that passes from red to white to blue. It is a powerful recharging device that the user can freely interact with and, in theory, use to pass from his present mood to a desired one. Above all, it is an opportunity for me to work with the emotional transfer that takes place when light is an artistic medium.
